EFFECT OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

EFFECT OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT The project looks at women empowerment and sustainable development, through the means of active involvement in a community. This study is aimed at exploring the lack of women’s active contribution in the community and active participation in an event that is geared to contribute to the socioeconomic life of their community. The project explores the placement/location of women in Ghuata community. During the Ghauta Day Festival of Kagoma people in Kaduna State, Nigeria, the men are the ones who perform active and sensitive roles, the women who make up the full community are more or less inactive, and this in a way affects the development, growth and increase of the community. Active involvement is paramount. For example, it enables planners, researchers and community leaders as a whole when identifying and formulating development programmes, to consult with both men and women in order to take into account their needs, attitudes and traditional knowledge. RISING TREND OF OLD AGE HOMES

RISING TREND OF OLD AGE HOMES  Reverence for one’s parents is deeply embedded in Indian families. Children deem it their moral duty to look after their aged parents and elders. In the last few decades, our society has undergone massive transformation in terms of family structure. As a consequence of the social transformation and evolving lifestyles, many of the older parents are landing in old age homes.   The mushrooming of nuclear families especially in urban India, has led to steadily increasing number of old age homes. “The increase in old age homes in the metropolitan cities is not a good development. Over three decades ago, the thought of older parents being sent to the old age homes was not easily accepted in our country due to traditional mind-set and cultural ethos,” says Bangalore-based  Kishore Joseph , trustee,  Omasharm Trust Old Age Care  which presently serves a total of 65 resident elders. The most obvious reason for this trend is the migration of children from their ho

UNDERSTAND THE QURAN

UNDERSTAND THE QURAN Assalam alaikum (May peace be upon you all) Will they not then ponder over the Quran or is it that they have locks on their hearts!? [Quran, 47:24] Who created us, why are we here, and where are we going? The correct and complete answers are given by the book of Allah only.  You may say: I don’t care. But won’t this be your first question when somebody takes you away in sleep and you wake up tomorrow in a in a fast-moving train heading somewhere?  Just because you are living on this planet for the last 20, 40 years, the questions don’t disappear. Every person in this life undergoes cycles of happiness and sorrow, and of ease and tough situations.  In easy situations, we tend to forget everything else. But when life goes through tough situations, no one can help you, not even money, position, status, relatives, power, etc.  In those times, only Allah through His book can guide you to the best solutions.  It alone can give you peace of mind and heart. Each one of us

PARENTING ACCORDING TO QURAN

Image
PARENTING ACCORDING TO QURAN The best gift to a child by his parents is his proper upbringing.   But it can be confusing and daunting with so many theories of good parenting practice to follow. No wonder most parents find it hard to raise productive and pious children! To make it easy for parents, I have narrowed down the Islamic parenting to five essential principles. If we take action on these five principles, then it will help guide us and make us productive parents raising productive children. Children are an  amanah  for us as Muslims, a responsibility as much as they are a gift. It is our job to make sure they become hard-working, productive and most importantly, God-fearing individuals who will be an asset to the  Ummah . The Prophet Muhammad   said, “When a man dies, his action discontinues from him except three things, namely, perpetual sadaqah (charity), or the knowledge by which benefit is acquired,  or a pious child who prays for him .” [ Sunan Abi Dawud ] So our intention

Eschatology (doctrine of last things)

Eschatology (doctrine of last things) In Islamic doctrine, on the Last Day, when the world will come to an end, the dead will be resurrected and a judgment will be pronounced on every person in accordance with his deeds. Although the Qurʾān in the main speaks of a personal judgment, there are several verses that speak of the  resurrection of distinct  communities  that will be judged according to “their own book.” In conformity with this, the Qurʾān also speaks in several passages of the “death of communities,” each one of which has a definite term of life. The actual evaluation, however, will be for every individual, whatever the terms of reference of his performance. In order to prove that the resurrection will occur, the Qurʾān uses a  moral  and a physical argument. Because not all requital is meted out in this life, a final judgment is necessary to bring it to completion. Physically, God, who is all-powerful, has the ability to destroy and  bring back to life all creatures, who ar

Islamic eschatology

Islamic eschatology  is the aspect of Islamic theology concerning ideas of life after death, matters of the soul, and the "Day of Judgement," known as  Yawm al-Qiyāmah  (Arabic:  يوم القيامة ‎,  IPA:  [jawmu‿l.qijaːma] , "the Day of Resurrection") or  Yawm ad-Dīn  ( يوم الدين ,  Arabic pronunciation:  [jawmu‿d.diːn] , "the Day of Judgment"). The Day of Judgement is characterized by the annihilation of all life, which will then be followed by the resurrection and judgment by God. Multiple verses in the Quran mention the Last Judgment. [1] [2] The main subject of Surat al-Qiyama is resurrection. The Great Tribulation is described in the hadith and commentaries of the ulama, including al-Ghazali, Ibn Kathir, Ibn Majah, Muhammad al-Bukhari, and Ibn Khuzaymah. [2]  The Day of Judgment is also known as the Day of Reckoning, the Last Day, and the Hour ( al-sā'ah ). Unlike the Quran, the hadith contains several events, happening before the Day of Judgment, whi
